Chinese New Year / House warming party

Welcome to the food spread for our Chinese New Year/ house warming party! We had 30+ family and friends come and celebrate with us. Everyone loved the food and said the house was very charming:) good news for me!
Menu for the party included; lettuce wraps, veggie pot stickers, and fried rice.
We also had Asian pears, which were super juicy and delicious.

Kim made us some yummy Pork cashew dish with cilantro...

And I made Kung Pao because you can't have a Chinese party without it!

Emma made nutella wontons for desert which were gobbled up fast!

We all had a great time and I am very grateful for the beautiful home we have to spend time with good friends and family in.

Take a Tour

Taking a tour of my house just the first floor.

Once you walk into the door you see the stairs to go up. But if you go right it takes you into the kitchen if you go left, we go into the living room.

Sorry these are repeat pictures :)

Leaving the living room we go into the office space. Cat's couch is in there for now.

Walking away from the office you go into the bathroom which I have already blog about fixing up to make a complet circle into the kitchen and dinning room.
The lanterns are from our Chinese New Years party

I hope you enjoyed the tour!

moving day

We moved all of our stuff and are getting settled in. This was our moving truck and it got stuck in our drive way:0 good thing we had lots of help!

the final look

Turned the wall into a full shower and tub.

before,during, after

You can see that the box has now been moved. The one picture is the back of the box and the other picture is the front of the box on the other side of the wall, looking into the kitchen.

project bathroom

Since the electrical box had to be moved because it was right above the bath tub (you can't see it in this photo, but it is right above this tub). I decided that in the long run it would be better to just get rid of the claw-foot and put in something more practical to have have with roommates aka that has a shower. You could attach pluming to make a shower with this bath tub but then run the risk of getting the floors and walls wet and I didn't want to worry about the potential mold since I wasn't going to be the primary user.
